is Kefir?Kefir is a tart and tangy, creamy cultured milk smoothie that
contains live and active probiotic cultures and is high in protein,
calcium and vitamin D. Refreshing and effervescent, it has been popular
in Eastern Europe for more than 2000 years.
The
Champagne of Dairy.Kefir is called “the Champagne of Dairy” due to its
slightly effervescent, fizzy nature. This is a result of natural
fermentation—a sign that the kefir cultures are live and active! Don’t
worry if the bottle is slightly boated—it’s completely normal. Just be
sure to shake the bottle well before opening.
